Rice, Spice and Gators! Three things Louisiana’s known well for! Come along to learn the history of the alligator in Louisiana culture and its contributions to our animal industry at Greenwood Gator Farm. The next stop heats up with a tour of our world-famous Tabasco Hot Sauce Factory & Gardens, established by the Mclhennny family in 1868. Finish up the day with a tour of America’s oldest operating rice mill and a visit to the Konriko Company Store! Tour Leaders: Josie Purvis & Madalyn Autin

Beef On The Bayou
Come tour three Louisiana cattle farms ranging in Cow-calf operations, stocker cattle, premium Angus beef production, and red and gray Brahmans. A behind the scenes look of what everyday operations look like for these Louisiana cattle farmers and their impact on the industry! Tour Leaders: Kylie Nicholson & Jody Duhé

Tour 3
Ag at Angola
Experience Ag at Angola! We will visit the Louisiana State Penitentiary (LSP), the state’s oldest prison. Known as “Angola”, the prison is located on 28 sq. miles of farmland and is the largest maximum security prison in America. We will see the many agricultural commodities of LSP, discover the PAWS (Prisoners Assisting Warriors Service) program, all while learning the history of the prison. Then, we’ll commute to the Bob R. Jones-Idlewild Experimental Research Station. The station is the only facility of its kind in the country that has both a captive and native deer herd. Tour Leader: Abigail Maerke

Louisiana Lagniappe
A little something extra! On this tour, we will look at the commercial food industry of Louisiana. Let’s get cracking like oysters and take a closer look at Louisiana’s seafood industry! Explore an oyster dock and learn how our state’s hurricanes can impact one of our largest industries. Next up, pucker up! At Farm Fresh Food Supplier, we will learn about some of our state’s most unusual snacks: pickled pig lips. Finish up the day with a visit to DoRan Seafood for a look at the processing of fresh Gulf Coast shrimp! Tour Leaders: Edana Scalf & Sydney Robinson

Tour 5
Racing Trough The Rouge
Come along and enjoy the ride as we discover the equine industry of Louisiana. The start gates of our tour will be at Global Wildlife where we will be on a wagon tour feeding several different wildlife species. Then we will move on to the beautiful Clear Creek Stud thoroughbred breeding facility in Folsom, Louisiana. We will hit the final stretch of our tour where we will be at the Fairgrounds Race Tract where we will tour the racing facility with the track veterinarian. Krewe Of Brew
Get the true taste of Louisiana’s roots as we parade around Mardi Gras World. At Mardi Gras World, you will be getting a behind the scenes tour of how the floats and costumes are made… and did I mention King Cake? Next, you will find yourself riding around the famous Honey Island Swamp! Learning about Louisiana’s most unique ecosystem and the creatures that live there. Tour Leaders: Emily Shell & Blair Lipps

Tour 7
Callin' Baton Rouge
Tour behind the scenes of a few of Louisiana State Universities landmarks including the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Tiger Stadium and Mike the Tiger (LSU’s live mascot). Enjoy a scoop of ice cream and learn a little about our very own dairy production on campus. End the day with a tour of Baton Rouge’s very own Tin Roof Brewery.
